Trend Report: Spring 2011 Campaigns

I love having a look at designers' campaigns, thinking about the fashion trends and finding my favourite piece from each collection. This season I was a little bit disappointed from most of the campaigns... even though I liked the clothes, I didn't find them very inspirational and unique.

Let's have a taste of what we expect in the new season!

Very playful, colorful and youngful the D&G's spring 2011 advertisements are out and get us into the spring spirit with a picnic themed shoot lensed by Mario Testino. Starring Keke Lindgard, Julia Turenkova, Jessica Clarke and Mariana Idzkowska, the lighthearted images showcase the label’s romantic floral prints with summertime fun

Chloe gives us a nice, simple and clean series of advertisements starring leading models Iselin Steiro and Malgosia Bela. Photographed by David Sims, the Isein and Malgosia wear the nude tones from the latest collection.

Prada’s spring 2011 campaign is a colorful affair with models Mariacarla Boscono, Arizona Muse, Tati Cotliar, Kinga Rajzak and Zuzanna Bijoch sporting the label’s jazz inspired pieces. Lensed by Steven Meisel, the dark haired beauties pose in front of the Prada logo looking as glam as ever in bold colors and stripes.

My favourite piece from this collection is the white and blue top with the two monkeys! So cool...

One more time the Missoni family are the models of their own campaign but this time Margherita called her friends, Tatiana Santo Domingo and Eugenie Niarchos to join her!
What a great idea!

I certainly prefer the last season's campaign for Louis Vuitton!
A trio of leading models including Freja Beha Erichsen, Kristen McMenamy and Raquel Zimmermann in front of Steven Meisel’s lens, the group invites us into their boudoir full of colorful accessories and eastern inspired garments.

Our first look at Chanel’s spring 2011 campaign showcases the spring collection’s rock and roll edge and who better to showcase Karl Lagerfeld’s new vision than Freja Beha Erichsen and Stella Tennant. Lensed by Lagerfeld himself, Freja Beha and Stella go outdoors for a day of fun in the sun alongside Baptiste Giabiconi.

In a glamorous display of campaign overtime, Gucci reveals its spring 2011 accessories campaign starring Karmen Pedaru, Joan Smalls, Nikola Jovanovic and Gen Huisman. Lensed by Mert & Marcus, the group brings sexy allure to the accessories campaign.

This shoot is so cool...
Daria Werbowy and Stella Tennant get sporty for the spring 2011 campaign from Céline. Photographed by Juergen Teller, Daria and Stella wear the label’s loose-fitting silhouettes of subtle elegance.

Daria Werbowy takes to the city streets for the spring 2011 campaign from Joseph. Lensed by Peter Lindbergh with styling by Marie-Amelie Sauvé, Daria is beautiful in black and white in the Big Apple.

Always a label with the flair for the dramatic, Dolce & Gabbana’s spring 2011 campaign is a cinematic event starring leading models Alessandra Ambrosio, Isabeli Fontana, Maryna Linchuk and Izabel Goulart. In front of Steven Klein’s lens, the trio shows off designers’ Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s lacework designs.

Always a youthful and sexy approach, the spring 2011 campaign from Michael Kors goes to the blue waters and golden sun of California with models Karmen Pedaru and Simon Nessman. Photographed by Mario Testino, Karmen and Simon wear Kors’ elegantly relaxed designs as they go on romantic rendezvous.

As with many campaigns this season, Fendi’s spring 2011 campaign follows in the footsteps of fall 2010 with Anja Rubik in a picturesque setting akin to a work of art. Photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, the Fendi woman isn’t afraid of bold colors or dramatic shapes for the spring as shown by these uniquely stunning images.

Hermès goes into the shadows for its spring 2011 campaign starring Jacquelyn Jablonski. Photographed by Nick Knight, Jacquelyn dons the label’s western inspired garb for the new season.

For this season, Jil Sander has my favourite collection! But this campaign isn't very inspirational! Iwas expecting something WOW from them!

After a runway show of mass proportions and bright colors, the spring 2011 campaign from Jil Sander once again enlists Willy Vanderperre to a shoot a campaign that uses lighting to its advantage. Featuring Daria Strokous, the advertisements place focus on the collection’s striped accessories and bold palette.

This campaign from Lanvin is not one of my favourites... I find it too dramatic!
It looks like in the midst of the spring 2011 campaign season, we get to see a cat-fight in the form of Lanvin’s latest advertisements shot by Steven Meisel. Starring Iselin Steiro and Kinga Rajzak as a dueling duo, the girls fight over Lanvin’s wanted bags.

Stella McCartney is always known for putting playful elements in its advertising campaigns and the spring 2011 season is no exception. For the new season, McCartney enlists Joan Smalls and Malgosia Bela to go nude underneath custom cut-outs lensed by Mert & Marcus.

Mulberry’s spring 2011 campaign is a colorful affair with models Lindsey Wixson and Nimue Smit surrounded in a room of flowers and sunlight lensed by Tim Walker. Wearing the label’s girly and elegant designs, the model pairing stuns in the latest campaign styled by Edward Enninful.
