Living in Style : Derek Lam's loft in Soho

I am a big fan of designers' houses. It is fascinating to see how they express their creativity to decorate their own place. This loft belongs to Derek Lam and it is situated in Soho just a few blocks from his first-ever boutique on Crosby Street.

Lam and partner Jan-Hendrik Schlottmann at home

This is the open air living room. I found it very interesting that he didn't hang the artworks up on the wall but rather just placed them on the floor. I also like the contrast of the total black pillow on the white sofa. Very elegant!

I love the idea of having a library in the master bedroom.
The colours that he used for his bedroom are very sophisticated

A colorful framed Picasso scarf offsets the dark palette.

This the intellectual corner of the house. The chess corner!

What a great garden!!!
